Say hi to REDEYE: CoPilot’s Dedicated Video Production Team

“So what do you guys actually do?”

We get this question a lot. So much so that we decided to launch a sub-brand. Let us explain.

CoPilot Co. started off in 2018 as a video production business specializing in tourism and destination content. When tourism shut down in 2020, we decided to dive head-first into in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) virtual production. We grew a YouTube channel dedicated to virtual production and tech, started working internationally with Fortune 500 companies on LED wall integrations as CoPilotXR, and began developing our first AI tool FlightDeck to help streamline Unreal Engine processes, all while still working on video projects here in Manitoba.

Today, the list of services we offer is massive. And that’s where the confusion comes in.

CoPilotXR was intended to be our dedicated XR virtual production team, but along the way people started to think we weren’t doing video production anymore. Local clients we’ve worked with in the past were now looking to other folks for new video projects. Meanwhile folks from international businesses seeking virtual production services were confused reading our Google reviews — most of which were written by our video clients.

We do a lot of different things really well, and that means we have very different clients with differing needs. Trying to speak to everyone all at once makes it next to impossible to communicate one clear message.

Our solution? Launch a new addition to the CoPilot fleet dedicated solely to video production: REDEYE Video.

Introducing REDEYE Video

Meet REDEYE — the latest addition to the CoPilot fleet, hyper-focused on beautiful, story-driven video production. We’re all still CoPilot, but our video crew now flies under REDEYE.

It’s the same creative, communicative, and collaborative work that our clients have come to expect from us — just a lot clearer now. We work with our partners to find the best ways to tell their stories and connect with audiences, including innovative storytelling techniques, technologies, and approaches leveraging the CoPilotXR team (think: pre-visualization with 3D models, filming with an XBOX Kinect).

The best part of being a member of the CoPilot fleet? Our REDEYE team has full access to CoPilot’s strong industry connections for equipment, crew, studios, and locations; our XR team’s expertise for innovation and 3D rendering support; and our collective experience working with union and non-union projects.

As REDEYE, we do everything from pre-production to post-production, adjusting to what exactly our clients need. Whether you need a full-scale creative partner, a one-off service provider, or a support team to fill in the gaps of your in-house crew, we got you. We put in the hours to make sure your project gets delivered on-time and to the highest standard.

What this means for you

The big one: we’ll be sharing our video projects over on the REDEYE website, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages (all of which you should check out 😉), so it’s much easier to see the content that’s actually relevant to you. Video clients can learn about our recent projects through REDEYE, without the tech deep-dives our virtual production clients expect from CoPilotXR.

We’re also making it way easier for you to start a video project, with a clear point of contact: hi@redeyevideo.com

Otherwise, most things are staying the same — namely the same crew you trust, the collaboration you expect, and the passion for creativity your project deserves.

The REDEYE crew in action

This is an exciting new chapter for CoPilot Co., and we’re so thankful for the support you’ve shown us through the past 7 years.
